Thank you all for your participation. Please invite your friends and make sure the sisters you visit teach know about it as well.

Also, we will have a nursery for those of us that need to bring our kids. We are asking that we rotate and take a turn in the nursery so that no one is in there all day. Just an hour. Two adults at a time. So if you would like to volunteer or have teenage children that would be willing to take an hour we would appreciate it greatly. Thank you in advance.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Little Late...

This is a little late, but I just wanted to say thank you to Evan Zinser and Lindsay Albrecht for hosting our Photography Activity. I think those that attended were able to learn some new things about their cameras and learn a few techniques for taking better photos.

Thank you to all those that attended. We appreciate your support and hope that you enjoyed the activity.

Don't forget that Super Saturday is coming up. The sign up sheets for the crafts will be going around soon. Thanks for your patience.

Everyone remember to come to the activity this month.

September 15th at 7:00

we will be having a photography lesson. Evan Zinser and Lindsay Albrecht will be teaching us to use more than just Auto on our cameras. We all want to able to take great pictures to preserve memories for the future generations. Please come and participate and get to know the other sisters in our ward.

The Finalists

After voting, three of the potential crafts got eliminated. The Decorated Gift Bags, the Muffin Tin Advent, and the Emergency Candle Holder received 0 or 1 vote so we are going to cross those off the list.

This next week I am going to be starting to make displays and gathering prices for all the crafts that were chosen. If you are willing to be in charge of one of the crafts, please let me know. I am also looking for individuals that would be willing to teach a small 10-20 minute class on Super Saturday. It can be about anything. It doesn't have to be craft related. We are thinking of having a few of these throughout the day, to take a break from the crafting and learn new things. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas.

Another item of business, we are doing a couple crafts that require sewing machines, so we are looking for anyone that would be willing to bring their machine to be used that day.

Thanks again for all your input and ideas. I am really looking forward to Super Saturday and I hope you all are as well!

Thank You!

I just want to give a HUGE thank you to Stephanie Black and Yvonne Mann for planning and presenting at our Organization activity. And thanks to all those who attended and participated. There were many wonderful ideas about how to organize our homes and lives.

D&C 88:119 says, "Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God."

Stephanie also mentioned that anyone interested in getting help from her to get on the path to organization that she would love to assist you.

Thanks again and we look forward to another great turn out for the next activity, which happens to be on September 15th. Evan Zinser and Lindsay Albrecht will be teaching us all how to use our cameras and get the best photos. What better way to preserve our legacy for generations to come than through photos! Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.

A Few More

Here's a few more for you to choose from. I don't have any prices yet because I am just trying to get it narrowed down to the ones everyone is really interested in.

This is a photo holder made with a piece of wood and some bent wire. Could cover the board with paper and paint the wire for variation.

This is a Testimony Glove and is a cute idea for children to learn the 5 points of a testimony.

A monogram tile. Design might be different but this is the basic idea. Will have your last name and initial.

Monogram soap/sanitizer dispenser. The monogram is printed on transparency then slipped in the bottle.

I Spy bags. Good for people with small children.

A quick and cheap craft. Decorate plain gift bags.

Crayon rolls are cute and could be made fairly easily. One variation includes the pad for drawing on and folds instead of rolling.

I am also going to be putting together Countdown to Christmas Storybooks. There will be a story to read every night in December until Christmas. Email or get me your favorite Christmas stories, poems, talks, pictures etc and we will burn you a disk to pick up at Super Sat. You can then print as many as you like to make books for yourself and loved ones! cost $1.00

Your input is welcome and needed for this to the best Super Saturday ever!

A Few Ideas

I am posting a few pictures of some of the ideas for Super Saturday this year. I am welcoming any ideas and any volunteers to be in charge of a craft. That would include acquiring the supplies and giving basic instruction on how to do it. Let me know if you are interested.

The first is a family tree made out of wire. The wire is bent so that it can hold pictures of family members.

These pieces of jewelry are made of washers and have paper decoupaged on them. The possibilities are endless.

This is a different way to display the Family Proclamation.

A fun Christmas craft made using a Paver stone. Can also be made into a Santa or Elf or Reindeer.

An advent calendar made using a muffin tin.

A first aid kit made using a hot pad and plastic baggies. Great for the glove box. Can also be used to hold crafting supplies or as a sewing kit.

A mason jar that holds emergency candles and matches. A pipe coupling is glued onto the underside of the lid so when it's turned over it becomes a candle holder.

A basic tray painted with chalkboard paint.

A star made from a cereal box and covered with paper.

A display for your children's art.

Please let me know what you think of these. I am still looking for some pictures of other ideas I have. And please feel free to give me any ideas.

Thanks, Kinsey
