Good Information

Thank you to Cindy Hawks, Jeanetta Easterly, and Anna Mae Forsyth for presenting all that wonderful information on canning and preserving food. I learned a lot and am sure all those who attended did as well. So many ways to use and preserve our food. But make sure you learn the proper ways to do so.

If you would like any of the information that was given that evening, please contact Cindy Hawks. She would be happy to help you with any questions about food safety.

Thank You!!

Just wanted to say thank you to all those who participated in the activity for this month. Our "This Little Piggy" activity was wonderful and some great information was shared. Lisa Johnson enlightened us on how to take advantage of the "Price Matching Guarantee" at Wal-Mart. She also gave us useful information on using coupons. Kerry Carpenter helped us all realize that we can have beautiful homes without having to spend a lot of money to decorate. Great organizing tips and decorating ideas were shared. Anya Mathews did a wonderful job explaining why we need to eat certain foods and helping us to think about what we eat and why. Vicki Hodes shared with us 10 things we need to be doing in order to keep our spiritual lamps full. Kristine Collier helped us to remember "Come What May and Love It!" There are always going to be roadblocks and trials in our lives but we need to remember that we are never alone and the Lord always  blesses the shoulder according to the burden. Thank you to all the wonderful ladies who took the time to share their insight and talents with us.

For next month's activity we are going to be going over home canning and preserving and the safest ways to do that. We all want to be able to use the abundance that hopefully we receive from our gardens. What a great way to prepare for the winter and add to your food storage!

So please plan on attending, even if you don't think you will ever can or preserve anything, it is useful knowledge to have and may someday come in handy.

This Little Piggy...

For the activity this month we are going to be using the poem "This Little Piggy". We will be taking each line and using that to teach a mini lesson.

This little piggy went to market: We will be discussing using coupons and sale shopping.
This little piggy stayed home: We will be discussing home making on a budget.
This little piggy had roast beef: We will be giving you meal planning ideas and other cooking tips.
This little piggy had none: We will be talking about a spiritual feast and being prepared so you are never with "none".
This little piggy laughed wee wee wee...: We will be talking about positive thinking and being happy.

Come join us for a fun and educational evening and stay for the sundae bar that will follow!

Calling all crafters!!

We are looking for ladies who are willing to help us out with Super Saturday this year. If you have a craft that you think would be great for us all to do and would be willing to be in charge of it from start to finish then let us know. Even if you are just willing to help out the day of, that would be great. It can get a little stressful getting everything together and we want everyone to have a great time, those in charge included. Please start thinking about this and let us know if you can help.

Service Auction!!!

First we want to thank all those that helped out with the pillowcases last month. I think there ended up being over 60 cases made and donated. I'm sure the Ronald McDonald house and those staying there will appreciate those very much.

We are having our 3rd Annual Relief Society Service Auction for our activity in July. Many wonderful items have been donated and we look forward to a good turnout. What a great way to serve those sisters in our ward and receive service from others. Please come and participate. No money is necessary. Just come and have a fun time! Babysitters are available for those that need to bring their little ones.

June Activity

Pillow Case Service Activity
June 21, 2012  7:00 p.m.

For this month's activity we are going to be sewing pillow cases that will then be taken to the Ronald McDonald House. This is a great service that we can provide. Please take this opportunity to serve others. All we need is 1 yard of fabric to make each case. So please bring any fabric you have (precut) or sewing machines. If you are not that into sewing, come anyways and visit and get to know the sisters in our ward.

January's Activity

Welcome Back!

After having a nice break from activities during the holidays, we are excited to start this new year with lots of great activities planned.

This month we are having a fun game night to get us all out of the house and have some fun with our sisters. We are asking that everyone invite the sisters on their Visiting Teaching lists and especially encourage those less active to attend. This will be a great way to get to know everyone without any pressure.

So please come and and have fantastic time!
Thursday January 19th, 2012 7:00pm at the Lemmon Valley building.

We will also have quilts set up for those that are not big game players or that would like to help get some quilts done.
